Verde on Cherokee

Verde on Cherokee is a vibrant, intimate venue located in the heart of St. Louis’ Antique Row. This venue is absolutely gushing with charm and warmth and is a perfect option for those in need of a private space for their ceremony or reception without needing to pay for all the amenities.

Verde will be the first to tell you, they are not a full-service venue. This keeps the investment down but still allows couples to have their wedding in a totally unique setting. Verde is split up into a few key areas, with the main features being the outdoor patio and the greenhouse. If you’re hosting a smaller wedding but still want to have a solid backup plan, Verde can accommodate both indoor and outdoor setups. The entire venue has a max capacity of 100 guests, but it really shines with guest counts between 30-40 in our experience.

The McPherson

The McPherson is truly a gem located squarely in the Central West End! While it’s relatively unassuming from the outside, the venue opens up to a dramatic, 30-foot beamed ceiling and original stone accents. Couples have access to a huge courtyard in the back of the space for outdoor ceremonies and there are indoor getting-ready spaces for both parties.

A common complaint I hear from couples and see at weddings is that there are often long lines at the bar. The McPherson has two bars to efficiently quench the thirst of all your guests, and plenty of room outside of the main areas for folks that need to take a break from the reception partying! I’ve photographed winter weddings at this venue, and I can confidently say that this venue is a great option for an “off-season” wedding! For events up to 250 guests, this may just be the venue for you!

I mean… LOOK AT THOSE WINDOWS! Their preparation suite is a huge asset to a couple’s wedding day, and it offers a secluded and comfortable space for the wedding party to get ready for the rest of the day. Haue Valley calls itself “more than just a beautiful place to say I Do,” and we couldn’t agree more. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the venue is flexible: They encourage you to make your wedding as upscale or as casual as you’ve imagined.

The bold wooden accents pair well with the massive spiral staircase and inviting library. The venue’s getting-ready suites are also second to none, with mirrors and windows that make completing hair and makeup a total breeze.

A creative photographer’s dream, Third Degree Glass Factory in St. Louis occupies a converted industrial building with roughly 12,000 square feet of event space and a maximum capacity of about 300 guests, making it well suited for medium-to-large weddings. Being just off of the main section of the historic Delmar Loop, Third Degree is fully featured and centrally located! This gorgeous venue combines exposed brick, soaring windows, and raw metal beams—features that create dramatic backdrops: couple’s portraits framed by glowing molten-glass sculptures, cocktail-hour candid shots against rows of handblown pieces on display, and wide-angle reception images that use the venue’s high ceilings. Natural light from oversized windows and the factory’s textured surfaces give couples a versatile palette for unique and creative images as well as amazing guest experiences near the workshop areas where artisans sometimes work during events. St. Louis WEDDING VENUES FAQ

HOW MUCH DOES A WEDDING COST IN St. Louis?

The average cost of a wedding in St. Louis was between $29,643 and $36,231 from 2016-2019. In 2020 the average cost was brought down to $30,044 due to the rise in elopements related to the effects of the pandemic. However, experts are predicting that cost to rise in 2024 and beyond.

HOW MUCH DO WEDDING VENUES COST IN St. Louis?

Venue investments vary widely depending on your guest count, amenity preferences, and of course… Location, location, location! St. Louis, MO wedding venues roughly begin at $4,000-$6,000 for 50 people, but average between $12,900-$15,800 for larger weddings.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE SIZE OF A WEDDING?

Most weddings that I photograph in St. Louis are between 100-150 people, while larger non-western weddings can be upwards of 300 people. Micro-weddings usually have 50 guests or fewer, and an elopement typically has fewer than 10 guests. That might consist of the couple, two sets of parents, the officiant, and the photographer.

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN A WEDDING VENUE?

I suggest looking for a St. Louis wedding venue that can accommodate all parts of the day, too much travel to multiple locations can throw a wrench in your timeline and become more of a hassle than it’s worth. Ideally, a wedding venue has two prep suites, a space for the ceremony and reception, and is centrally located or has onsite opportunities for unique photographs.

WHAT ARE THE MOST POPULAR TYPES OF WEDDING VENUES?

Historic buildings, estates, museums, greenhouses, and gardens can all be amazing St. Louis wedding venues depending on your needs. Once you’ve booked your venue, the next step is a photographer! Feel free to reach out below or see how I do things differently here.
